OVERVIEW
Leucine is an essential amino acid which means your body cannot make it so you must get it from foods and supplements. L-leucine works synergistically with the two other BCAAs isoleucine and valine. Together, they work to repair damaged muscle tissue, help regulate your blood sugar and boost your body’s ability to make energy out of the foods you eat. It also holds the possibility of increasing production of growth hormones like HGH.
It promotes the development of lean muscle by helping you burn visceral fat which is in the deepest recesses of your body and not as responsive to diet and exercise. Foods containing high amounts of Leucine include whole wheat, brown rice, meat, nuts, beans, and soy flour. People who exercise frequently and at high intensities, eat a low protein diet or that want to build more muscle mass are well advised to supplement with L-Leucine from ProteinCo.
DESCRIPTION
Leucine is one of the three branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) along with isoleucine, and valine. All three help promote muscle recovery following exercise. Leucine has proven to be the best BCAA for preventing muscle loss. This is because it breaks down and is converted to glucose more quickly than either isoleucine or valine. Higher glucose levels prevent the body’s cannibalization of muscle for energy during intense workouts, therefore it’s not surprising that this particular amino acid supplement is so popular with professional bodybuilders and weight lifters. Leucine also promotes the healing of bones, muscle tissue and skin after traumatic injury. It’s often recommended for anyone recovering from surgery. Leucine is very easily converted to glucose which helps your body regulate your blood sugar. Having a leucine deficiency can be recognized by symptoms of low blood sugar that include fatigue, dizzy spells, headaches, irritability, depression and mental confusion. While a leucine supplement can be taken alone, it may work best when combined with isoleucine and valine. Therefore, Proteinco.ca recommends you first mix extra leucine in with our BCAA powder then adjust to taking leucine powder alone if needed.
LEUCINE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT OF THE THREE BCAAs!
What an L-Leucine supplement can do for you
Of all the essential amino acids, Leucine is considered to be the best stimulator of muscle protein synthesis. Studies have shown that increased amounts of leucine reduce the destruction of muscle tissue by dramatically increasing your body’s ability to build muscle mass. There has never been any doubt the L-Leucine was the most important of the three branched chain amino acids. Due to recent findings however, it has become even more apparent that Leucine alone has tremendous muscle growth potential. Our BCAA powder and BCAA capsules both contain a 2:1:1 ratio of Leucine:Isoleucine:Valine. To increase the amount of L-Leucine in your diet, we recommend you add our leucine supplement to your intake of either of these two amino acid supplements. It’s possible your body already has enough isoleucine and valine that you can take leucine alone. Try adding it to you BCAA mix first and then consume alone to see what if any benefit you notice with one technique over the other. The bottom line is you can expect L-Leucine to promote better muscle growth after any type of strenuous activity.
LEUCINE PROMOTES MUSCLE PROTEIN SYNTHESIS
More than any other amino acid, L-Leucine stimulates and promotes muscle protein synthesis. This means it works directly with every other mechanism and growth hormone in your body to help you build muscle. If you are into bodybuilding, weight lifting, football, hockey or other muscle intensive sports or activities, taking a leucine supplement can help you get bigger and stronger. At ProteinCo, we source our raw Leucine powder from the most reputable sources. The superior quality and lack of toxins directly translate to improved performance.
SUPPORTED GOALS
Gain Weight – Helping you build more muscle mass
If you are looking to gain more body size and weight, developing more muscle mass is key. Muscle weighs more than fat so you definitely want more muscle and less body fat regardless of the type of athlete you want to be. The biggest football and hockey players realize increased muscle mass and lower body fat translate to more strength. When you want to throw your weight around, you absolutely need to build as much muscle as you can. Adding a leucine supplement to your regimen can take your performance to new heights faster than most any other nutritional supplement.
Lean Muscle – Boosting metabolism to help you burn fat
Body fat is body fat right? It’s visible right around your middle and if you don’t have much there, you don’t need to worry do you? There is another type of fat you can’t see called visceral fat. It’s in the deepest, darkest corners of your body and it’s difficult if not impossible to reach with diet and exercise. A key feature of Leucine powder is its’ ability to help your body burn that visceral fat. Lean muscle development can be superior when you are burning all the types of body fat you have. The proof is in the trying of an L-Leucine supplement. You should notice leaner looking muscles than you ever thought possible or experienced. Training harder not only doesn’t reach those deep fat stores, it can deplete your Leucine levels to the point you can start going backwards. Buy our top rated leucine supplement online at Proteinco.ca and experience a lean muscle revelation!

FAQ
Q – What is Leucine?
A – It’s a branched chain amino acid that your body can’t make. It has to be ingested and derived from the food you eat or supplements. It’s the most important amino acid for helping you build muscle so anyone who trains with weights or wants to increase lean muscle mass can benefit greatly from an L-Leucine supplement.
Q – Why should I take more Leucine alone?
A – Recent studies have shown that leucine is the most important of the 3 BCAAs. It’s possible you still need to take L-Leucine in conjunction with L-Isoleucine and L-Valine. Everyone is different however so adding more leucine powder to our BCAA drink or consuming alone could improve your muscle development dramatically.
THE MOST IMPORTANT ESSENTIAL AMINO ACID!
Q - Isn’t L – Leucine in your BCAA supplements?
A – Yes it is and you’ll notice there is twice as much leucine as isoleucine and valine. We now know that more leucine may improve muscle building results. So why don’t we just increase the amount of leucine powder in our BCAA supplements? It’s because the formula works very well for many people and we simply want to give others who are interested the option to increase their amount of leucine.
Q – How much leucine can I take each day?
A – We don’t recommend that you take more than 2 servings per day. Excessively high amounts of leucine have been linked to the development of pellagra, which is a niacin deficiency that can cause diarrhea, dermatitis and mental disorders. Too much dietary leucine may disrupt liver and kidney function which can increase the amount of ammonia in your body. This can lead to feeling over trained or excessively fatigued all the time.
Suggested Use
Serving Size
5 grams = 1 scoop
Usage guidelines
Mix 1 serving of Leucine in your favorite liquid two times per day (take one of those servings immediately after intense training)

Caution :
You shouldn’t consume isoleucine without first consulting a physician if you have impaired kidney or liver function. Large doses of amino acids may aggravate these two conditions. Consult a health care practitioner if you have been treated for or diagnosed with a medical condition, or if you are using any medication. Use only as directed.
PROTEINCO’S NUTRITION SYSTEM
Pre Workout
Consumed as a pre workout supplement, Leucine can help you reduce the amount of muscle damage incurred during training. It can be taken alone 10 -15 minutes pre workout or mixed with any other supplement combination you use prior to training. Many athletes have experienced improved results with a combination of our Pre Workout NO2, BCAA Powder and L-Leucine supplement. These three supplements are some of the best pre workout supplement you can possibly take. Therefore, experiment within reason and the guidelines we offer until you find the perfect combination for you personally.
Post Workout
Consuming a Leucine supplement immediately following exercise can help improve muscle recovery and repair. We always advise the consumption of a recovery drink post workout. A combination of protein, carbohydrates and good fat has been shown to dramatically improve recovery when consumed right after exercise. By adding a serving or two of Leucine powder to whatever recovery drink you use, you can help promote muscle protein synthesis. The effect that should be very noticeable is the drastic decrease in your recovery time and the massive muscle mass you start to develop.
